Data Deletion Policy — Znap
How to delete your account, events, and data from Znap.
In-app method: Open the Znap app → Go to Settings → Tap Delete Account → Confirm deletion.
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted:
- All your events (cameras) and their settings
- All photos from your events (both photos you took and photos taken by participants)
- Your profile and account data (email, name, authentication data)
- All local app data stored on your device
Note: If your events have active participants, those galleries remain accessible to them until the 15-day post-reveal window ends, then are automatically purged. However, your account and all associated data are deleted immediately.
In-app method: From the event screen → Tap Delete Event → Confirm deletion.
When you delete an event:
- We immediately delete the event and all photos and metadata in it
- This action cannot be undone
Creators can delete individual photos within their events at any time. Deleted photos are removed from viewing and scheduled for permanent deletion.
If you cannot access the app to delete your account, email support@znapcam.com from the email address associated with your account. Include:
- Your request to delete your account
- The email address associated with your account
We'll verify your identity and process the request, typically within 30 days.
- Events auto-expire: All events and their photos are automatically deleted 15 days after reveal; then all related content is purged from active storage.
- Backups: Backups may persist for a short period for integrity and disaster recovery before being overwritten.
- Crash logs: Retained per platform policies (Apple/Google).
When you delete your account, we delete:
- Your account information (email, name, authentication data)
- All events you created (after the 15-day grace period for active participants)
- All photos you uploaded or captured
- All associated metadata
